Herbie Kane says he hasn’t been surprised by the standard of Sky Bet League One during his loan spell with Rovers.
Kane has been influential in what has been a solid start to the season from Grant McCann’s side, and is looking to keep learning and improving his game.
He said: “I knew from speaking to other people that had been out on loan not to underestimate anyone as there are good players in this league.
“I think the biggest thing I’ve learnt is how much it means to win games of football where points are on the line.
“You’ve got to put performances in to make sure you stay in the team, if you don’t perform well then people will take your place.”
The 19-year-old will come back into the fold for the game against Gillingham this weekend after missing the win at Rochdale through suspension.
He added: “I’ve heard it was a tough game and a very good result, we needed the win and hopefully we can push on from that this weekend.
“I spent some time at home with my family, and went to watch some of my mates play local football which is always funny.
“I was watching that but I was checking my phone throughout the afternoon to see how we were getting on.”
