Grant McCann wants Rovers to extend their good home record against Fleetwood Town this weekend.

Rovers are unbeaten in five league games at the Keepmoat Stadium, and McCann feels getting results at home will keep them at the right end of the Sky Bet League One table.

He said: “We’ve got one of the best home records in the league so far, and any team who wants to be up there has to maintain that.

“I think a big performance will come at home, we’ve scored more goals away from home but we’ve shown both sides of our game in front of our own fans.

“It will be a really tough game and Fleetwood will be desperate to go on a run themselves having not won for a few games.”

Rovers go up against a Fleetwood side managed by Joey Barton, a man who McCann was pleased to see given a shot at management in the EFL.

He added: “I’m sure Joey is enjoying it, he’s a high profile name in football and it was good to see Fleetwood give him a chance.

“There are a few big names in management now, the likes of Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard have been in enough changing rooms to handle the pressure.

“As a manager you have to work hard every day, but once you go home it’s important to be able to switch off and I make sure all my staff do that.”

Tickets for Rovers clash with Fleetwood Town at the Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday October 6 are available from the Club Doncaster Box Office, on 01302 762576 or at tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk.
