Grant McCann is looking forward to a good atmosphere when Rovers take on Sunderland in Sky Bet League One on Tuesday night.

A crowd of more than 10,000 is expected at the Keepmoat Stadium, and McCann believes his players will rise to the occasion.

He said: “It will be a game between two teams who want to win the game, we’ll look to get on the front foot and try to take the game to them.

“Sunderland are bringing 4000 fans here and that should generate a good atmosphere, my players are really keen to get going.

“I think we’ve got characters who like the big occasion and it’s going to be the biggest crowd of our season at home so far.”

With just one point separating the two sides in the table, McCann wants his players to focus on themselves.

He added: “It’s just another game for us, they’ve got players who can hurt us if we’re not on our game but we’ve got players who can hurt them.

“We will go into the game worrying about us, and making sure we do the basics right and don’t give anything away.

“We’re starting to look a threat again, we’ve scored five goals in our past two games and we’re only two points off of the automatic promotion places.”

Rovers return to the Keepmoat Stadium to take on Sunderland on Tuesday October 23, with tickets available from the Club Doncaster Box Office, on 01302 762576 or at tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk.
