Grant McCann reckons his players are determined to get back to winning ways against Rochdale this weekend.

Rovers sit sixth in the Sky Bet League One table with 12 games played, and the manager says he has been pleased with the work done on the training ground in the build-up to the game.

He said: “I’ve sensed more focus this week, with the game on Tuesday and players taking their opportunity there has been a step up in concentration.

“It’s easy when you’re in a good position to sometimes switch off and think you’ll win easily, but football isn’t like that.

“The Fleetwood game was a one-off but it did give us a gentle reminder that we need to be better with and without the ball.”

Saturday’s opponents have won just once at the Crown Oil Arena this season, but McCann is still expecting a tough test from Keith Hill’s side.

He added: “Keith’s teams are always expansive and play good football, they’re brave with the ball and I’ve got a lot admiration for the job done there.

“He’s done well with the resources he has available to him, and he’s managed to put together a good team this season.

“We’ve got to make sure we stick to our game plan which we’ve worked on all week, if we do that then we can go there and get the win.”

Rovers' next home game at the Keepmoat Stadium is against Gillingham on Saturday October 20. Tickets are available from the Club Doncaster Box Office, on 01302 762576 or at
