Grant McCann has backed his players to continue their good form against Accrington Stanley on Tuesday night.

Rovers travel to the Wham Stadium on the back of four straight wins in Sky Bet League One, a run which has seen them climb to third in the table.

He said: “It was a long trip for us to and from Plymouth, but the players have trained well as usual leading into a game.

“We won’t be making excuses in terms of travel, it is part of the game and we go into the Accrington game in good spirits.

“The boys who aren’t getting much game time are still training well, and you need that to create competition.”

Accrington haven’t lost in the league since the opening day of the campaign, and McCann knows his side are in for a tough test.

He added: “It’s going to be a very tough game, they’ve been on a good run and John Coleman has been there for a few years now.

“They are a team that are used to winning, they won the league comfortably last year and we’re under no illusions that we’ll be tested.

“I’m not surprised by the start they’ve made, they are proving that they’ve got capabilities to make a real push for the top six.”

Rovers return to the Keepmoat Stadium to take on Fleetwood Town on Saturday October 6, you can purchase tickets from the Club Doncaster Box Office, on 01302 762576 or at tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk.
