Danny Andrew says the standards Rovers have set for themselves hold them in good stead for the rest of the season.

The 27-year-old was defensively solid in Rovers’ 2-1 victory over Bradford City at the Keepmoat Stadium, and Andrew praised the impact that forward John Marquis had on the affair.

“We have set some high standards for ourselves this season, we are only nine games into the season but you can see by where we are in the table the kind of standards we have set,” he said.

“If we continue to hit those kind of standards throughout the season, who knows what can happen, and we did well to get over the line and get the three points.

“John has scored two great goals, the first was a great strike and has found the top corner, as long as he is scoring he’s happy.”

Andrew has played almost every minute in Sky Bet League One this season, and says he is enjoying the attacking intent Grant McCann has the side playing with.

“I love the formation we play, I know I can speak for Niall Mason as well when I say this, we both love getting forward and if we can chip in with a few goals and assists this season, we will do well,” he said.

“I was disappointed last season as I obviously only managed to play six games before my season was over but at the minute I feel good.

“I think when you win three on the bounce you can’t not be confident, however there isn’t an arrogance about us, we go out there and work hard every week.”
