Andy Butler hailed a great point on the road after Rovers come from behind to draw 2-2 at Oxford United and strengthen their grip on the play-off places.

A first-half goal from Rovers' top striker John Marquis and a second-half own goal was enough to take a point from the Kassam Stadium against a team who have not suffered defeat since February 19.

"It's a great point and a good performance from everyone involved," said Butler.

"The conditions weren't great for either team, you could see how much the wind blew in one direction but I thought in the second half – when we were playing into the wind – we probably played better football than we did first half.

Butler believes the experience of players like himself, James Coppinger and Tommy Rowe give his side an advantage at a crucial point in the season.

"We've got experienced players here and experience counts in these situations. Even when we were 2-1 down we didn't get rattled and everyone stuck to their tasks

"It's a tough place to come, they're a good team but I thought we more than matched them and we  could have snuck it at the end."

It is your last chance to back Rovers at home in the league. Get behind the team for the final time in the play-off push when we host Coventry City on Saturday May 4. Tickets available from the Club Doncaster Box Office, online here (tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk) or by calling 01302 762 576.
