Club Doncaster Foundation gave primary school students from across Doncaster the opportunity to take over some of the most exciting roles at Rovers, including first-team manager, players, groundsman, media manager, head of operations, chief executive, marketing assistant, photographer, referee, stadium announcer and many, many more.

The children contributed to a fantastic day at the Keepmoat Stadium delivering a wonderful atmosphere for supporters of both teams.

The 2019 Junior Takeover marked the fifth time the annual event had taken place at the Keepmoat Stadium. It grows year-on-year and allows young people to enjoy moments of magic and behind the scenes access at a Rovers match.

Foundation sport development officer Kelly Jackson-Powell said: “Junior Takeover Day is one of our best projects and is one that we are immensely proud of.

“Being able to put smiles on the kids’ faces and watch them make memories they can tell their friends and family about sums up why we do it.

“For many of the children who take part, it really is a once in a lifetime opportunity and allows them to, not only engage with this family football club, but also inspire them to explore future careers.”

Rovers’ staff were hugely complimentary of their junior counterparts making it a wonderful day for all involved and one of the highlights of the season.
