Manager Grant McCann says he is looking for his side to back up their recent performances with another win in Sky Bet League One on Saturday.

Rovers return home to face Plymouth Argyle at the Keepmoat Stadium having won their last three games in a row, and McCann believes his side have negotiated every obstacle that has come their way so far.

“We’ve stood up to the challenge that has come our way, we had two excellent performances at home and another dogged performance on the road, one where everyone put their bodies on the line, and now we have a chance to follow it up,” he said.

“We’re not looking anyone that’s currently around us in the table at the minute, the focus, as always, is on us, we have to continue to do what we’ve been doing, we’ve responded well after a little blip where a lot of other teams could have folded.

“The performance levels need to be better in every game and the intensity has been good in training this week, hopefully that stands us in good stead, and we can get a good result at the weekend in what will be a tough game against Plymouth.”

Saturday’s visit of the Pilgrims is the first of Rovers’ final five games of the regular League One campaign as they look to secure a top-six finish, and McCann says they are looking to back up the support they have had off the pitch with result on it, especially at home.

“We know that a win can take us one step closer to where we want to be, we’ve been fairly consistent here, it’s massive for us to have three of our last five games at home and if we can win them then we’re in the play offs so it’s huge,” he added.

“The fans have a big part to play in these last few games, the support last weekend was outstanding, they’ve been brilliant all season, they’ve stuck with us and hopefully we can give them something to shout about and we want to finish the job.

“We have to take care of business and the next one is Plymouth, they’ll be coming here looking for a win to take them away from danger, and they’ll be coming here to do everything they can to beat us, so we need every single supporter behind us to get us over the line.”
