Tommy Rowe has said he’s looking forward to facing Plymouth Argyle at the Keepmoat Stadium in Sky Bet League One on Saturday.

Rovers are looking to stretch their run to four consecutive victories, while Pilgrims need a win to ensure they stay clear of the relegation zone.

“We know Plymouth well, in terms of the personnel, so we’ll be ready to do the business on Saturday and after this week’s training, I think we’re in a good position to put in a good performance,” said Rowe.

“They’ve got so many creative players in that midfield five which we’ve always known about. Their manager sets them up really well and makes them hard to beat and last season, of course, they went on that amazing run of wins so we know what type of players they’ve got.

“We’ve played Plymouth a lot recently with them being in League Two with us and then getting promoted to League One. We’ve have some good results against them and some not so good ones but I always enjoy these games.”

With just five games left of the season, the race for the final play-off place is as close as ever with Peterborough United just five points behind  Rovers with a game in hand. Tommy Rowe insists that Rovers are not focusing on anyone but themselves.

“We can’t look at other teams. As a group, we just try to focus on what we can control. We can create our own destiny by winning the next game and the next. We know it’s in our hands so ultimately it’s about how much hard work we’ve got left in us to push on until the end, and I think we’ve got plenty more to give,” he said.

“We focus on the job in hand and how we can get that done to the best of our ability. We won last week, but we know we can still up our performance level. We’ve had a good week in training, it’s been really hard work but those are the ones you enjoy because – as a group – the togetherness is there.

“In the last three games, we’ve shown resolve and shown what we’re about. I still think there is more to come but that’s where we are at this point in season and as long as we’re doing the work during the week to prepare for the games. We’re really focused and we’re positive that we can bring the best performance possible on Saturday.”
