Cameron John says he is looking to use his loan spell at Rovers to make a name for himself in the EFL.
The 19-year-old made his debut in the Carabao Cup tie at Grimsby Town, and is now keen for more first-team action.
He said: “It was a great experience to play my first game for the club, the result wasn’t what we wanted but I enjoyed it and the boys helped me through.
“I didn’t expect my chance to come as quickly as it did but I was ready for it, there is some real competition for places which is good.
“It’s exciting to be a part of and hopefully I showed the manager that I’m capable of being used in the league as well.”
In what is his first loan away from parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers, John is already noticing the step up from the U23 level he was previously used to.
He added: “The intensity levels are much higher and you have to be switched on at all times, there is a will to win here with three points on the line.
“It’s what you’re taught growing up and I’ve already come to grips with the differences because you have to adapt quickly.”
Rovers welcome Fleetwood Town to the Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday August 17. Tickets are available online at tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk, in person from the Club Doncaster Box Office or on the phone (01302) 762576
