Darren Moore is relishing the task of coming up against Lincoln City in this weekend's early Sky Bet League One fixture.
The Rovers manager has been impressed by the work Danny and Nicky Cowley have done at the Imps and thinks everything points towards and entertaining encounter for both sides.
Moore said: “They are a solid team, Danny and Nicky have done a great job in achieving back-to-back promotions and they have a clear understanding of the game. I think they will feel aggrieved that they didn’t come away from the game with MK Dons with something.
“They have a wonderful team with good players and a clear understanding which will make it a tough game on Saturday in terms of where both clubs are.
“In terms of where they are at now the profile and identity of the players has changed and that takes a lot of work so a lot of credit needs to go to Danny and Nicky because you can see their hard work paying off.”
Moore was full of praise for his forwards with him admittedly facing a selection headache ahead of the game against the Imps.
He added: “It is good to have those options available upfront, the boys dictate through how they have performed in training and the more time they spend together the more you see patterns beginning to develop through combinations and who plays best with who.
“They are doing great and it is nice to have those options up there and it is down to them as individuals to perform and when they perform, they have a great chance of starting and keeping hold of the shirt.
“Alfie May has been superb and he has been performing really well and we just want him to add goals to his game. He gives a lot of energy to the team and he has a bright and bubbly personality on and off the pitch. What we are trying to do is add more goals to his game.”
