Kieran Sadlier has been named in the Republic of Ireland’s provisional squad ahead of their UEFA Euro Qualifier against Switzerland and friendly vs Bulgaria in September.
Mick McCarthey will select his 23 man playing squad on September 1. Sadlier has already appeared for his nation at U17, U19, and U21 level but this is the first time he has been included in the provision senior squad.
After learning about his inclusion, Sadlier said: “I’m delighted to be named in the provisional squad for the Republic of Ireland.
“To be recognised by the manager and named alongside the best players in Ireland is a big achievement for me and hopefully it shows I’m doing the right things on and off the pitch.
“I’ve played for my country at youth representative level and my next target is to break into the senior team – if I manage to do that it would be among the best achievements in my career.”
