Paul Stancliffe felt that the good fitness levels of his team played a vital role in the sides 1-0 win against Notts County.
Jack Watson’s first-half strike fired Rovers to their second win of the season while Kian Johnson secured his first clean sheet of the campaign.
Stancliffe said: “It was another really good performance from us. We had to dig deep in the end because Notts County gave a good fight.
“Coming away from home in this division is always tough and it asks a lot of the players and our fitness levels shone through because we kept up our tempo all the way until the end.
“It was an easy decision to name the same team that played against Grimsby because they all deserved it and yet again, they proved to me that that was the right decision.”
The U18s return to Cantley Park next week where they host local rivals Rotherham United (kick-off 11am). Stancliffe looks forward to coming up against them.
He added: “Rotherham are a good side who will be a big test for us next week. There is that added bit of desire to do well with them being local rivals.
“We will be up for the challenge and beaming with confidence because of the last two results and that is down to how hard the lads have worked.”
