12 Days of Christmas start here

12 December 2019

At the beginning of November, Doncaster Rovers asked followers to nominate their fellow fans or family members as part of the Rovers '12 Days of Christmas' campaign.

The club wanted to reward those supporters, with a seasonal 'smile' - a way to say 'thank you' after what may have been a difficult year or to celebrate community achievements.

The nominations flooded in, and after the deadline, were taken over to the Cantley Park training ground where manager Darren Moore, club captain James Coppinger and team captain Ben Whiteman had the difficult task of choosing just a dozen fans, who would receive their surprise from the club over the coming weeks.

With the 12 fans finalised, Club Doncaster elves set to work, colluding with the nominators to arrange surprises and treats around each specific individual and alongside a busy festive period.

After a hectic few weeks, the '12 Days of Christmas' campaign goes live online on Friday 13 December at 8pm across YouTube, Twitter and Facebook, right through to Christmas Eve, December 24, after which all 12 fans and their surprises will have been revealed.

Club Doncaster marketing manager Mark Hughesman said "For Christmas 2019, we wanted to do a twist on our annual advent calendar offers, as part of the 140-year celebrations of the club, and make it about the fans, those who turn in match after match, rain, shine, and in both good and bad health. We were overwhelmed with nominations and it quickly became clear that, whilst we have some real unsung heroes amongst our supporter base and very deserving people, throughout the campaign we have come to learn how much the Doncaster Rovers 'family' has helped these individuals too, with a camaraderie and focus it has been touching to learn of. The campaign has been a real team effort to pull together and ensure each individual was rewarded as such. It's been an honour to meet so many people and hopefully, our tokens of appreciation have been well received"

Doncaster Rovers would like to thank club partners LNER, Elite Pro Sports, Urban Fresh Burger and Marquess as well as Mount Pleasant Hotel, Doncaster and Wembley Stadium for their help and kindness in supporting this campaign.
