Carl Boyeson will be the referee in charge of Sunday's Sky Bet League One game against Sunderland.
Boyeson replaces Darren Drysdale, who was originally pencilled in for the fixture at the Keepmoat Stadium.
This will be the first time the East Riding-based official has overseen a Rovers game this season.
He oversaw three Rovers games in Sky Bet League One during the 2018/19 campaign - the home wins over Wycombe Wanderers and Peterborough United, as well as the loss at Coventry City.
He has taken charge of one Black Cats game this term, officiating as they defeated Tranmere Rovers 5-0 at the Stadium of Light in October.
Boyeson will be assisted by Ravel Cheosiaua, and Wade Smith. The fourth official is Samuel Barrott.
