Brad Halliday says Rovers must get the basics right if they are to pick up three points against Accrington Stanley this weekend.

Darren Moore’s side are looking to get back to winning ways after defeat at Wimbledon last time out in Sky Bet League One.

He said: “It’s massive over the Christmas period because games are coming thick and fast so we need to pick up some good results.

“We’ve had a few postponed and a lot of cup games which haven’t helped us in gaining momentum up to now.

“Now we know we’ve got a run of league games coming up so we need to get back to basics and good performances.”

After enjoying a loan spell with Stanley in the 2015/16 campaign, Halliday has a lot of respect for the coaching staff at the club.

He added: “I really enjoyed my time there, John Coleman and Jimmy Bell gave me a chance to get some experience in the league and I’m thankful for that.

“It was a good season for myself, we missed out on automatic promotion on the last day of the season which was tough to take but a learning curve.”
