Reece James says the manner of Rovers’ defeat at AFC Wimbledon was tough to take.
Kwame Thomas had put Darren Moore’s side a goal up at Kingsmeadow, before a second half comeback secured three points for the home side.
He said: “The way we lost the game is disappointing, we dominated the first-half and had a lot of chances.
“We’ve got to be better at taking our opportunities when they come along, at this level you have to cut out mistakes and see games out.
“We did everything that we’d worked on all week and we showed how good we can be, we looked somewhere close to our best, but we didn’t get going in the second half.”
James believes the Christmas period will give Rovers a good opportunity to get back to winning ways sooner rather than later.
He added: “This busy period could be a good one for us because we need to start picking wins up quickly.
“There are big teams coming up against us and it’s a chance for us to show that we can compete and get results against the top teams.
“It’s hard to put a finger on why the results aren’t going our way, we’re working on different things on the training ground and we will keep doing that.”
