John looking forward to reuniting with Ennis

9 December 2019

Cameron John is looking forward to being reunited with Niall Ennis - his Rovers and Wolverhampton Wanderers team-mate – who is due to join him back in training at Cantley Park this week.

Ennis has been receiving treatment to a hamstring injury at parent club Wolves, but is set to resume his season-long loan at Rovers.

John said: “I’ve been in contact with him quite a lot and he’s in good spirits, I’ve just been checking in on him and seeing how he is.

“I’m sure he’ll be banging in the goals rather than me when he’s back and fully fit, and I’m looking forward to training and playing with him again.”

The centre-back has only just returned from his own injury, with Saturday’s game against MK Dons coming seven days after his comeback at Gillingham in the Emirates FA Cup.

He feels he is beginning to get back into his rhythm after getting a second 90 minutes under his belt, and believes Saturday’s point is a positive one following exits from the FA Cup and Leasing.com Trophy earlier in the week.

He added “I felt a lot better out there and it’s nice for me to get a run of games again, hopefully I can carry this on and it can give me something to work on for the rest of the season.

“This is something where we can look to get a run going now, especially after the week we’ve had.”
