Darren Moore says everyone in his squad will play a big role during the festive period as Rovers get ready to go again in Sky Bet League One.

Rovers host Sunderland at the Keepmoat Stadium three days after their brilliant win on the road over Peterborough United, and Moore is keen to see the momentum carried on against the Black Cats.

“We’re straight back in to see how everyone is after a superb win last time out, these games come thick and fast, but we’re going to need everyone over this festive period, there’s a lot of hard work involved,” he said.

“We have to manage everyone, you look at the volume of games coming up, it’s a big game and we have to make sure we have the right personnel available to us, we want to carry on that momentum from our win on Boxing Day.

“We saw Ben Whiteman come back into the side at Peterborough after his little knock last week, he brings that calmness on the ball we look for at times, it’s things like that where have to make sure everyone is ready at the right moment.”

Rovers secured their first win since the end of October with victory over the Posh, and Moore knows his side will be in for a difficult test if they are to grab another three points in the league.

“They’re another good side who will be looking to get towards the top of the division themselves, they have a very good manager in Phil Parkinson, and they’ll ask a lot of questions from us which will make it difficult,” he added.

“All games in League One and no matter who you play, you have to be ready, and Sunderland will make it a tough game for us, we’ll have a look at what they’re going to bring to town and go in with the right game plan.

“We want to go out and get another good result on the board, it’s one that we’re all going to be looking forward to, they’re a big club, they’ll be bringing a lot of fans down with them and we’re going to have to make sure that we’re at our best.”
