Sebastian Stockbridge will be the man in charge when Rovers host Oxford United on New Year’s Day.
Stockbridge also took charge of the reverse fixture in October – this is the only time he has overseen a Rovers match in the current campaign. He gave out three yellow cards at the Kassam Stadium with Jon Taylor and Tom Anderson both booked for Rovers.
The official from the North East is very experienced and took charge of his first EFL match in April 2013. He first oversaw a Rovers match in October 2014, a game which saw Rovers beat local rivals Scunthorpe United 2-1 at Glanford Park.
Stockbridge has taken charge of 21 matches in the 2019/20 season handing out 69 yellow cards and four reds.
On Wednesday, Stockbridge will be assisted by Craig Taylor and Paul Newhouse. Simon Clayton is the fourth official
