Grant McCann says the Rovers squad are fully focused on this weekend’s game against Peterborough United.

McCann’s side have three games coming up in the space of eight days in league and cup, but he says their priority is taking three points from their play-off chasing rivals on Saturday.

He said: “It’s a good chance to get three points, we’ve been strong at home and turned it into a really tough place to come.

“Since the Sunderland defeat in October we’ve won six and drawn two at home in all competitions which shows our progress.

“The boys love playing here, I believe there is going to be another good crowd so hopefully they can cheer us on to an important three points.”

The game sees former Rovers manager Darren Ferguson return to the Keepmoat Stadium for the first time, and McCann expects Posh to play differently to the reverse fixture between the two clubs.

He added: “I’ve nothing but good words to say at Peterborough United and I have a good relationship with all the staff there.

“Darren gave me my first opportunity in coaching so he was a huge influence off me and as you get older you take bits from each manager you work with.

“It’s a change in philosophy since Darren went in, the one thing they have had is a full week to prepare so it could be a good footballing game.”

Rovers return to the Keepmoat Stadium to take on Peterborough United on Saturday February 9. Tickets are available from the Club Doncaster Box Office, on 01302 762576 or at tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk
