Ben Toner will be the man in-charge when Rovers host Charlton Athletic in Sky Bet League One.
The man from Lancashire has been on the National List of Referees since 2015. He was promoted after three seasons as a National League official. His first EFL match was a Sky Bet League Two clash between AFC Wimbledon and Plymouth Argyle.
Toner has refereed six Rovers matches over the past four seasons starting with a 2-2 draw between Rovers and Swindon Town and most recently overseeing a 3-0 home win over Northampton Town in 2017.
He has taken charge of 28 matches in the current campaign mostly in League One and League Two awarding 81 yellow cards and five red.
He will be assisted by Graeme Fyvie and Alan Clayton. Sebastian Stockbridge will be the fourth official.
