Mike Dean will be the man in charge of Sunday’s Emirates FA Cup fifth round match between Rovers and Crystal Palace.
Dean will be well known to football fans as he is one of the most prominent referees in the country having taken charge of notable matches including the Emirates FA Cup final, Football League Cup final, as well as FA Trophy and Community Shield finals.
He is extremely experienced. He was added to the Football League full referee list in 1997 before being promoted to Premier League level in 2003. Between 2004 and 2013, Dean was on the FIFA international referee list and was appointed to Europa League and European Championship matches.
Dean has overseen a number of Rovers matches including Rovers 3-0 home win over Aston Villa in the Carling Cup, and a 2014 1-0 home win over Sheffield United. He has overseen 25 matches in the 2018/19 Season handing out 105 yellow cards and ten red cards.
Dean will be assisted by Ian Hussin and Harry Lennard. The fourth official is Lee Mason.
