Crawford looking forward to FA Cup tie

Ali Crawford is looking forward to going up against his former manager Alex Neil when Rovers travel to face Preston North End in the Emirates FA Cup this weekend.

The pair worked together during their time at Scottish club Hamilton, and the midfielder is excited about the chance of testing himself against higher league opposition.

He said: “I enjoyed playing under him at Hamilton and had a great season there so it will be good to catch up.

“Hopefully we can get one over on them, the squad is full of confidence and full of belief that we can get a result.

“We’re going into the game as underdogs so we have nothing to fear, if we play how we have in the past couple then we’ve got a good chance of progressing.”
