Niall Mason is likely to feature for the Development squad against Rotherham United on Tuesday as he steps up his recovery from injury.
The right-back managed his first minutes for the club since early December when he came off the bench against Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.
The reserves match will come slightly too soon for centre-back Joe Wright who has been struggling with injury since October though McCann is hopeful that the Welshman will be back in training next week.
Rovers’ Development side face Rotherham United in a Central League game at Cantley Park on January 15 (1pm).
