Alfie May believes Rovers have a squad capable of maintaining their push for promotion after signing a new deal with the club.
Grant McCann’s side currently sit sixth in Sky Bet League One, and May says the football they are playing is great to be a part of.
He said: “We’re going into each game knowing how many chances we can create, as a striker I just need to get on the end of them.
“I want to keep going and keep growing as a team, we’re in the play-offs but we want to be even higher and challenge those automatic promotion places."
May’s 11 goals this season make him the club’s second highest scorer in all competitions, and he is working hard to keep improving that tally.
He added: “I set myself targets for this season in terms of goals and I’ve already passed that, so I’ve set myself new ones and I’m working towards them.
“It must be the haircut that’s made the difference for me, I feel more confident in front of goal compared to when I first signed.
“I’m not rushing things when chances come along and I’m more composed, that sort of thing comes from a lot of work behind the scenes.”
You can see Alfie back in action at the Keepmoat Stadium against Burton Albion on Saturday 19 January, with tickets available from tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk.
