Grant McCann has said he expects a tough test from a hard-working Wycombe Wanderers team on Saturday.

Rovers ran out 3-0 winners in the reverse fixture earlier in the season, but McCann expects a much tougher test when his side travel to Adams Park.

“Wycombe have had some good results at home, they’ve beaten Barnsley and Peterborough there,” he said.

“What you can always say about Gareth Ainsworth’s teams is they work really, really hard and you could see that with the season they had last year. At one point, I thought they were going to threaten the top six this season before they lost a few in a row but they’ll be back, I just hope it’s after Saturday.

“We were good at home against Wycombe, we played well that day. We’re in good form, the boys are in good confidence and they’re looking forward to every game.”

McCann’s side are one of the in-form teams in Sky Bet League One only registering one defeat in their previous 12 matches but McCann believes that rising expectations won’t affect his players.

“Expectations rise when you win games but we never doubted ourselves,” he commented.

“My expectations are always high. I said from the first minute I came into the football club that I wanted to do as well as we could, we had a blip when we lost three in a row but we’ve responded really well.

“There are going to be stages in the season when we’ll lose but it’s how we respond. The most important thing now is to keep going. We stay switched on, focus on what we’re good at, and hopefully that comes to fruition on the weekends.”
