McCann relishing Portsmouth atmosphere

Grant McCann believes his team will relish the Fratton Park atmosphere when Rovers travel to Portsmouth on Saturday.

Pompey have lost three matches in a row in Sky Bet League One and will be looking to make amends this weekend. McCann says will add to the difficulty of the match.

"Portsmouth are a good team, they have a very experienced manager who knows the league inside out," he said.

"I've seen them twice in the last couple of weeks and they've got some good players, but so have we. We'll go there and play our game.

"It's going to be difficult, it always is at Fratton Park when they have 17,000 fans behind them, but those are the atmospheres we want to play in. We want to go to those stadiums, and those atmospheres and be able to express ourselves and play with freedom."

McCann says his side are still taking things one game at a time as they continue to push for promotion.

"I think we've shown all season that we're serious about breaking into the top six," he added.

"The boys are focused on one thing. For their careers and their futures, to have a promotion on their CV is only going to help them. We're taking it one game at a time so the focus is Portsmouth. We understand their strengths, we understand their weaknesses. We need to be on point with our play, on point with our pressing and on point with our discipline and then we'll give them a good game."

Rovers' next home game sees them take on Peterborough United on Saturday February 9. Ensure your place at that game by going to tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk.
