John Schofield believes his players will learn a lot from the defeat to Notts County in the Central League Cup.
The Development side were beaten 4-0 at Cantley Park, but Schofield took the positives from the game.
He said: “There is disappointment in terms of the defeat but we got good minutes into Tommy Rowe and we always look for the positives.
“The three new signings all got some much needed game time and they’re coming to a new club so they’re still getting used to the system.
“We’ve got seven games in seven weeks so it’s a chance for the lads to play regularly and gain some momentum.”
