Rovers manager Darren Moore says the Club Doncaster model was a big reason for him wanting to join the club.
Moore was appointed after a thorough recruitment process, and says he cannot wait to get going in South Yorkshire.
He said: “When the job became available I read up on all areas of the club and the thing that stood out for me was amount of work going on around the place.
“There are a lot of things being done around the community as well as the connection with the rugby club, there is a real togetherness.
“That made it a job opportunity that I wanted to apply for, I have a passion and a desire to manage at this wonderful football club.”
Having played for Rovers between 1995-97, Moore is delighted to be returning to the club he made more than 70 appearances for.
He added: “It’s been great to see how Rovers have progressed both on and off the pitch over the years since I left.
“As a player and a manager I have always been about looking to the future, now my focus is on this next chapter.
“I can’t wait to meet the players and the staff, along with everyone connected at the training ground and the stadium itself.”
