Madger Gomes has said that he’s keen to continue learning and improving at Rovers.
The Spanish midfielder said the side are training and working hard with the focus very much on the first game of the season.
“I feel good and the team feels good. We’re not happy that we didn’t get the win against Halifax, but we continue to work hard, train hard and look ahead to the first game,” he said.
“I think every game I try to improve and learn. I’m starting to know my teammates and we are learning what the coach wants. That’s it – I just want to play and help the team.”
Gomes also admitted making the move to Doncaster was an easy decision as he loves the English game.
“I didn’t think about it much, it was easy,” he explained.
“Last season, I saw a couple of matches because I had two friends here Herbie and Mallik. They had a great season but hopefully this season we can go one better. Mallik spoke well about the team, the staff, everything here at the Club.
“It was a good experience playing in France but I missed England a lot, I like to play here. I’ve had the chance to play at Liverpool and Leeds United, today I’m focused here in Doncaster. I’ll work to have a good season and if I get the chance to play, I want to do well.”
