Darren Moore is looking forward to watching Seny Dieng develop as the Senegalese international joined on loan from Queens Park Rangers last week.
Dieng completed 90 minutes in his first game for Rovers during a 2-2 draw with Hull City in the clubs final pre-season friendly.
Moore said: “We’re delighted to bring Seny to the club because I think he’ll be good competition for Ian Lawlor. We have two top keepers and they’ll compete and battle it out with each other for that number one spot which is what we want.
“I think he is one for the future because he is remarkable at shot-stopping, he comes for crosses and is really comfortable with the ball at his feet which we saw against Hull.
“He brings calmness and composure which you can see goes right through the team when your keeper is as calm and composed at commanding his box like that. It breeds confidence through the team.”
