Rovers U18s will welcome 2018/2019 champions Grimsby Town on the opening day of the Youth Alliance League.
The youngsters came within touching distance of being crowned champions last season until a heart-breaking final day defeat meant they finished second, something they are determined to better this season.
The U18s will face Scunthorpe United, Huddersfield Town, and Rotherham United and have an away trip to Burton Albion on November 29 which will be played at St George’s Park.
The strength of the current crop of young Rovers players can be demonstrated by the number of second year scholars who signed first year pro deals towards the end of last season. Branden Horton, Reives Boocock, Myron Gibbons, and AJ Greaves were all rewarded for years of hard work and an excellent attitude.
Fans will be well aware of Lirak Hassani who will be starting the season as a second year pro while Charlie Bell, Ethan Bojang, Josh Clemitson, Owan Derrett, Max Jemson, Lewis Cunningham, Liam Ravenhill, Ben Bottomley and Luca Nelson have all been rewarded for their hard work with a first year scholarship.
