Rovers’ U18s have been drawn in group one for the EFL Youth Alliance Northern Cup 2019/20.
Carlisle United, Fleetwood and Rovers' division rivals Mansfield Town and Rotherham United make up the complete group of five teams.
Cup fixtures:
- Rotherham (H) 11am, August 24 2019
- Mansfield (H) 11am, September 14 2019
- Carlisle (A) 11am, October 26 2019
- Fleetwood (A) 11am, November 9 2019
In total there are five groups of 25 teams competing across the north and the winners of each group will progress. Then three runners-up will be selected who had the best record to join them, leaving a total of eight teams progressing through to the next round.
Paul Stancliffe’s men will be aiming to improve upon last season’s run in the cup which saw them bow out at the group stage.
