Matty Blair is looking to build on the success of last season after returning to Cantley Park to prepare for the 2019/20 campaign.
The 30-year-old made 54 appearances in all competitions for Rovers as they reached the fifth round of the Emirates FA Cup and secured a place in the Sky Bet League One play-off spots.
He said: “Last season was a good one for me on a personal level, I obviously played a lot at right-back and would like to be in midfield more but as long as I’m playing then I’m happy.
“We were disappointed not to get the promotion we knew we could have got, but it’s a new start and we’ll look to go that bit better.”
There have been a lot of happy faces around the training ground since the players returned on Thursday.
He said: “We’ve kept in touch over the summer, and it’s good to see them - the staff as well as the lads, it’s like a big family.
“We had a meeting right at the start of Thursday and Schofe said it perfectly, that early in pre-season the focus is probably more individual and about getting yourself up to speed. It sets the tone for the season to come, everyone is happy to be back and seeing each other.”
