Rovers boss Grant McCann says the form of Herbie Kane and Mallik Wilks in 2018/19 has ensured top flight clubs are interested in sending their best youngsters to the Keepmoat Stadium.
Kane and Wilks both had impressive campaigns on loan from Liverpool and Leeds United respectively, enhancing their reputations and hitting 23 senior goals between them.
McCann said: “The amount of phone calls I’ve had from Premier league clubs and some of the big clubs in Scotland about loaning their players has been incredible.
“Hopefully we can build a decent reputation for ourselves, and have a look at what Mallik and Herbie did here.”
McCann expects Wilks and Kane to go on to have good careers in the game, and says everyone at Rovers can take pride from the way they have developed during their time in South Yorkshire.
He added: “These two boys came in and no one knew them, everyone was wondering what to expect.
“They went from strength to strength and now everyone is after them, it gives you a sense of pride in the job.”
