Rovers have started the process of recruiting a first-team manager, and are inviting applications for the role.
The club will accept applications up to Friday June 28, with a view to an appointment in July. The Rovers board will follow a similar process which led to the successful appointment of Grant McCann last summer.
The board reluctantly gave McCann permission to speak to Hull City on Thursday afternoon after an approach for his services when he expressed a desire to pursue the opportunity.
He will be joined by assistant Cliff Byrne at the KCOM Stadium after a compensation package was agreed between the two clubs.
Pre-season plans remain unchanged, with the club's players and backroom staff returning to the club's Cantley Park training ground next week ahead of the fitness training camp in La Manga.
