Kieran Sadlier will be raring to go when Rovers report back for pre-season training later this month.
Sadlier joined Rovers in January 2019 from Cork City and has gone on to make 14 appearances in red and white.
He said: “I’ve really enjoyed coming here in January and the boys were flying already so to come into a team that were doing really well and the training and stuff was good and everyone was happy and winning games which is always an easy environment to come into.
“I have become fitter over the course of the five months I have been here and got in the team more and more and scored some goals and I’m happy with that and I've had a good break and I am ready to go again.
“I had a long season before I came here, I think in total it had been 18-months without a break and since I’ve come in it has been a much higher intensity getting fitter and getting to know the boys.”
The forward scored a pivotal goal against Coventry City which secured Rovers’ place in the 2018/19 play-offs.
He added: “It was nice to get the goal but we just wanted to beat Coventry but it’s obviously one that will stick in my memory for a long time; clinching the play-off spot and I’m glad that I could of got the goal and I’m glad with the way things have gone.
“I want to make my claim in English football, I did it in Ireland and I want to do it over here moving up the levels and I’m confident I can do that with the backing here of the boys and staff here makes anything is possible.”
