Kieran Sadlier says he will use his break to come back stronger when pre-season training gets back underway.
This summer will be the winger’s first time away from the game for the best part of 18 months, and he believes it will enable him to recharge his batteries.
He said: “I had a long season before I came here and I went a long time without a break, but I wanted to make an impression and show the boys what I’m about.
“It’s nice to have a break and relax for a little bit, I’ll switch off from football but after a week or two I’ll start to miss it.
“I’ll get myself in the gym and the target for me is to come back on the first day of pre-season in a good condition.”
After scoring three goals in a Rovers shirt in the latter stages of last season, Sadlier sees the 2019/20 campaign as a good chance for him to become an integral part of the starting XI.
He added: “Next season is a big one for me and I want to stamp my authority on English football, I did it in Ireland and this is a good opportunity for me.
“We have a really good squad and the staff put a lot of work into improving us so I’m really excited about improving here.”
