Defender Paul Downing felt Rovers showed character to come back from behind to earn a point in Saturday's game against fellow Sky Bet League One promotion chasers Charlton Athletic.
Mallik Wilks' goal ensured Rovers took appoint away from the Keepmoat Stadium, and Downing believes the side deserve credit for bouncing back so quickly after falling behind against the Addicks.
"We didn't really start the game very well, they had a lot of the play for the first half an hour or so, we managed to weather the storm though really and we finished the first half well from our perspective," he said.
"We showed character to get the goal back quickly, and I think that's been a key part of this group this season, we're a determined bunch and we all want to get better, it's a massive credit to everyone that we came back stronger after their goal.
"We were on top for much of the second half then too and I felt like we created a lot of chances, we played some good football, and on another day, we'd be walking off the pitch with three points."
Rovers' point saw them remain in sixth place in the League One table on goal difference, five points behind the Addicks with a game in hand, and Downing says there is a real focus on making sure that play-off place is cemented as the squad look to move up a gear.
"We all came in a bit disappointed after that, especially because of how we started, but we always want to win at home and we haven't managed to do that here, if we want to be up where we want to be then we need to start winning more games at home," he added.
"We spoke before the game about the amount of games that we do have left this season, we're approaching it like a mini season in itself and we're taking things a game at a time, we've fought hard to get where we are, and now we're looking to step it up.
"I believe there is a lot more to come from this group and we'll show that over the coming weeks, we want to finish in that top six and that's a big reason why I came here because I believe that's possible."
