Ian Lawlor says he will be back to full fitness for the start of the 2019/20 season after committing his future to the club.

The Irishman has penned a two-year deal to extend his stay in South Yorkshire, and confirmed he is recovering well from surgery on a shoulder injury which ended his season early.

“On day one of pre-season I’ll be back ready to go, I’ll be 100% fit and ready to train,” he said.

“Hopefully that’s in the Championship, that’s where we all want to be next year, we have a lot of games left to do that but we’re all confident we can achieve something.”

Lawlor joined from Manchester City in January 2017 with the club in League Two, helping Rovers to win promotion back to League One at the first attempt, and he is confident the group can achieve something special this term too.

He feels he has learnt from working with goalkeeping coach Paul Gerrard, and that Rovers is the perfect place to continue his development.

“I’m still learning and still progressing, but I really do feel at home. I didn’t want to go anywhere else and I’m now delighted to be here for at least the next two years, it’s a real family club, everyone has one goal and that’s to do it for the club,” he added.

“The management staff have been great, and especially working with Paul Gerrard has helped my game improve all the time, I’m learning every single day, and that was a big factor for me in signing a new deal.”

Season Memberships for 2019/20 are now on sale at the Club Doncaster Box Office in person, via telephone on 01302 762576 and online at tickets.clubdoncaster.co.uk.

Early bird pricing is available until Monday April 1 2019, when Silver Memberships will go off sale until the club’s final league position has been established in May.
