Aaron Lewis says having back-to-back home games will help Rovers get back to winning ways in Sky Bet League One.

Rovers face Bristol Rovers at the Keepmoat Stadium on Tuesday night, as they look to climb back into the play-off places.

He said: “We’ve got eight games of the regular season to go and with the quality in the squad we’ve got the ability to make the play-offs.

“We’re really strong at home with all the fans behind us, with two straight home games it gives us a good chance to get to winning ways.

“We feel there is a point to prove from us, we haven’t been good enough in recent weeks but we’re good enough to put another run together.”

Lewis has settled in well since joining Rovers on loan from Swansea City in January, and feels he has matured as a player during his spell in South Yorkshire.

He added: “I found it quite easy to come into the group, I knew Herbie which made it easy to get to know the rest of the boys.

“The way the manager wants to play suits me, getting the ball down and passing out from the back is good for any defender.”
