Marko Marosi has said the Rovers side have put the previous two results behind them as they prepare to welcome fellow play-off contenders Charlton Athletic to the Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday.

Rovers have lost just three times in the previous 16 Sky Bet League One outings, and Marosi says the side’s belief is high.

“The past two results weren’t what we wanted but we move on and we focus on winning the next game,” he said.

“At the start of the season, people said we were favourites to be relegated and look where we are. We didn’t listen to the people who didn’t believe in us. The manager came in and spoke about promotion and we bought into that. He gives the lads the freedom to play and express themselves and when you win games, you start believing.

“We take each game as it comes, we always want to win every game. This is our home and it’s never going to be an easy game when any team comes to the Keepmoat Stadium.”

Marosi added that fellow Rovers ‘keeper Ian Lawlor – who has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to a shoulder injury – has been supporting and helping him around the training ground.

“Ian Lawlor and I have a good relationship so we push each other in training and support each other in matches,” he said.

“If he’s playing, I want him to do well and when I’m playing, he wants me to do well. We review the games, and talk about where we can improve and what we did well.

“Goalkeeping coach Paul Gerrard has been outstanding with us, we’re learning every day from him. He played in the Premier League, so to have the opportunity to be trained by someone like him is great.

“We have a young goalkeeper, Louis Jones, who has been on the bench. I remember when he first arrived and he’s improved an incredible amount so it’s looking well. I think he’ll be challenging Lawlor and me soon, he’s really, really good.”
