Grant McCann has branded the game against Bristol Rovers as a must win as Rovers look to bolster their promotion push with a win on Tuesday night.

Rovers haven’t lost at the Keepmoat Stadium since October and a draw or better will see Rovers jump Peterborough United back into sixth place.

“We need to win the game, no sugar coating, we have to win and we’ll be doing all that we can to achieve that,” said McCann.

“It’ll be tough, I know Graham Coughlan very well, he’s got them flying, they’ve turned a corner and they’re a completely different team to the one we played at the Memorial Ground.

“We have to make sure we perform, and if we perform, we give ourselves the best chance of getting the win.”

McCann added that his team have drawn a line under Saturday’s result and are now focused on getting back to winning ways and home form will be key.

“We went over a few things from the game on Saturday that can’t happen again and won’t happen again and then we drew a line under it, went on the training pitch and the team trained really well,” he added.

“We’ve got five games at home and if we win all five, we’ll be in a good position. We’ve been disappointing away from home in recent weeks but we know how strong we are at the Keepmoat Stadium so our focus is on these two home games starting tomorrow.

“There will be doubters, people saying Doncaster Rovers won’t get in the top six that they won’t make it, but that drives me and it drives the group that we’ve got. We’ve been hit from pillar to post with people doubting us and they’re doubting us again. That’s fine, we’re ok with that. We’re calm, we’re composed and we’re relishing the challenge of these eight games.”
