Tyler Smith says he has found it easy to settle in at Rovers since joining the club on loan in January.
The striker signed on loan from Sheffield United until the end of the season, and has enjoyed his time at the Keepmoat Stadium so far.
He said: “It’s been really easy to settle in as we’ve got a really good set of lads, it helped being in and around them for a while before I played.
“I spend a lot of time with Mallik and he is a really good guy to have around the place, and he’s backed that up with some great performances this season.
“It’s good to have a couple of young lads on loan with me because they’re in a similar position to me, we’ve helped each other with the new experiences.”
Rovers and Smith go up against Barnsley in Sky Bet League One on Friday night, in a game which both teams have a lot riding on.
He added: “As a Yorkshire lad I’m buzzing for this one, the crowd is going to be electric but it’s important that we focus on the game and look to take three points from it.
“We’ve been good against teams around us, a win would give us a massive confidence boost and some momentum for the rest of the season.
“I was sat in the stands against Crystal Palace wishing I was playing, against Barnsley I think we’ve got a very good chance.”
