Grant McCann has said he is only focused on finishing the job when Rovers host Coventry City  on Saturday.

A win for Rovers will guarantee a place in the top six and McCann has affirmed that his side are not worried about any other permutations.

“I’m really focused on my team, making sure that me and my staff pick the right team, the one that are going to go out there and get the right result. We’ve been in and around the play-offs all season and now we need to finish the job,” said McCann.

“We haven’t been scared of saying what our ambitions are, we’ve been focused on achieving that and kept the focus on that and now it all boils down to one game – three points and we’re in the play-offs. Everything that we’ve worked hard for from pre-season, all the dedication, the commitment, the hard work, it all comes down to Saturday.

“A calm, mature performance on the day will hopefully see us get the three points. I feel quite calm, I’m looking forward to it – these are the games you play football for and I can’t wait until Saturday. We know what we’ve got to do – it’s black and white for us now. Win on Saturday and we’re in the play-offs.”

Visitors Coventry City will be looking to spoil the party on Saturday and Grant McCann believes the Sky Blues will provide a very tough test.

“Mark Robins is a very experienced manager and he’s gone in there so it doesn’t surprise me that Coventry are where they are in the league,” he said.

“They were very close to the play-offs this season because they’ve got good players who have kept themselves right in and around it for most of the season.

“They’re dangerous. If you’re not good enough behind the ball when you’re in possession then they can hurt you, but we’ve worked hard all week on our game plan and we need to make sure our players step up to the plate on the day.”
