Manager Grant McCann has praised John Marquis’ focus and energy after Rovers’ top scorer was named in the PFA League One Team of the Year.
The PFA Team of the Year is voted for by League One players and included players from Luton Town, Barnsley, Sunderland, Portsmouth, and Rovers.
McCann said: “John has been voted in the EFL Team of the Year, which is voted for by the managers, and he’s been voted in the PFA Team of the Year which is voted for by the players and he’s deserved it for his energy, for the way he’s approached every game for us. It just goes to show how much he’s thought of in the game both among managers and among his peers.
"I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, he’s the best no.9 in the league and he’s proved that by getting in both Team of the Years.”
