Jeremy Simpson will be the man in charge when Rovers host Coventry City at the Keepmoat Stadium on the final day of the season.

The Lancashire-based official is highly experienced having taken charge of his first EFL match in January 2012, a 4-1 home win for Crewe Alexandra over Dagenham and Redbridge. This season, Simpson has taken charge of 39 matches - 29 of which have been in the Championship - and has awarded 159 yellow cards and seven reds.

Simpson has taken charge of five Rovers matches across his career. In his first full season in the EFL, he oversaw a Rovers victory over Bradford PA in the Emirates FA Cup. He was also the man in charge when Rovers lost 1-0 to Blackburn in January 2014 and when Rovers defeated Rochdale 3-1 at Spotland Stadium the following season.

In Rovers Sky Bet League Two promotion season, Simpson took charge when Rovers defeated Portsmouth at home. Goals from John Marquis (2) and Tommy Rowe secured a 3-1 victory.

Most recently, Simpson took charge of Rovers home defeat to Sunderland in October 2018, he awarded six yellow cards to Rovers and four to Sunderland on that day.

On Saturday, Simpson will assisted by Nick Hopton, and Shaun Hudson. The fourth official is Graham Salisbury.
