Rovers U15s hosted touring side Greenisland FC over the Easter holidays. The team from Northern Ireland were on a football tour of England and stopped off in Doncaster on their travels.

The U15s played a match against Greenisland FC at the 3G pitches at the Club Doncaster Academy before enjoying a tour of the Keepmoat Stadium which included a look around the changing rooms and pitch.

Head of Academy coaching Steve Welsh said: “It was great to host Greenisland FC. We had a great match against them and were pleased to show them around the ground. It’s a really good experience for our players to play against different teams from different countries and it was great to be able to welcome Greenisland FC to Doncaster and show them the Keepmoat Stadium.

“We hope the lads had a great time with us and look forward to growing the relationship by welcoming them back again in the future. There are also plans for our younger teams to go to Northern Ireland later so it's a really exciting time for both clubs."

A win for Rovers U18s on Saturday will see them clinch the Youth Alliance League title - follow the action on the Academy twitter account with build up from 10am, May 4.
